Update 1 - New ending, and various tweaks/fixes
I Told You This Was A Bad Idea » Devlog
Thanks so much for all of the great feedback on this game, I'm really glad that so many of you enjoyed it! I've got other projects in progress, so please follow me if you're interested in seeing more. :D
I've made an update with some tweaks, and a new ending that's just a little bit more hopeful! I tried not to make it too easy to get the good ending, because I kind of like the more melancholic default one... but hopefully it's not too hard to figure out either.
(Tip: If you've already finished the game, remember that the command 'return to start' can be used to restart it.)
Enjoy!
General Tweaks:
- Added some new recognised phrases, and recognition for obvious typos.
- Fixed a small issue with the game logic after asking the Terminal one of the 'important' questions.
- Cleaned up or improved the Terminal's dialogue in some places, and changed the timing of the Terminal's questions.
Ending Changes (note: possible spoilers!):
- Added a new and (slightly) more positive ending! Hint: Getting the good ending depends on answering the Terminal's questions encouragingly, and saying what it wants you to say towards the end...
- Lowered the number of attempts required before triggering the 'reluctant' ending (when you refuse to enter the code).
- Penultimate screen is displayed for a longer period of time, giving the player more time to read it.
